Billy Bob Thornton born on August 4th, 1955 in Hot Springs, Arkansas is an outstanding American actor, screenwriter, singer and director. He won an Oscar for his Best screenwriting for "Sling Blade" and won several awards and nominations for his best acting screenwriting abilities.
Billy Bob Thornton was born to psychic, Virginia Roberta nee Faulkner and Billy Ray Thornton, a high school teacher and basketball coach. Billy Bob Thornton has three younger brothers Jimmy Don, late Jim Bean, and John David. He attempted to study psychology at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, but soon dropped out after two semesters.
Before becoming an actor he did several odd jobs like working in off-shore wind farming, fast food management, and telemarketing and worked as a waiter at an industry event where he met and had a talk with film director Billy Wilder, who advised him to begin as a screenwriter.
Billy Bob Thornton began his acting career in 1987 with "Hunter's Blood" in 1987 and has since been cast in number of movies and television series like "The Outsiders", "Hearts Afire" and "Ellen" in which he had recurring roles. He later attracted the attention of the movie critics with his villainous role in "One False Move" in 1992 which he also co-wrote.
Four years later, he became an international star with "Sling Blade" {1996} in which he has acted, directed and screen-written. He won an Oscar for his Best Screenwriting and was nominated for Best Actor. Besides Academy Awards, he won numerous other awards for his acting and powerful screenwriting talents. Soon several successful movies followed such as "A Family Thing" {1996}, "A Simple Plan" {1998}, "Armageddon" {1998} "The Gift" {2000}, "Bandits" {2001}, "The Man Who Wasn't There" {2001}, "Monster's Ball" {2001}, "Bad Santa" {2003} in which he proved his acting talents and screenwriting abilities.
Billy Bob Thornton has been in and out of marriage for five times. He first married Melissa Gatlin in 1978 and divorced her in 1980. The couple together has a daughter Amanda Spence. His second marriage was to Toni Lawrence from 1986 to 1988 and third was to Cynda Williams from 1990 to 1992. He had Pietra Dawn Cherniak as his fourth wife from 1993 to 1997. The couple together has two sons William Langston and Harry James. In 2000, he married Angelina Jolie in May 5th, 2000 and divorced her in May 27th, 2003. He is currently dating Connie Angland with who he has a daughter named Bella.
